Born in Tokyo in 1971. He started studying music after encountering the violin in his childhood after he was visually impaired.
After graduating from Toho Gakuen University, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 1997, he graduated at the top of his class after being awarded the title of Special Artist Status, the second person in the RAM's history.
In 1998, he made his debut with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kenichiro Kobayashi at Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Since then, he has been active as a soloist based in the UK and Japan, giving numerous recitals every year and co-starring with many major orchestras both in Japan and abroad.

In 2004, he was the only Japanese artist to be invited to a recital series sponsored by Prince Charles, along with Maria João Pires, Heinrich Schiff, and others, and received high acclaim for his duo with a British pianist. In 2005, the performance of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" with the Bologna Opera House Chamber Ensemble at the Bologna Opera House in Italy received a standing ovation from a packed audience. In 2006, he was appointed as soloist with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra conducted by Hubert Soudant on a Japan tour, and also held recital tours in the United States, China, and other countries. In 2007, he performed the Japanese premiere of Wolf-Ferrari's "Violin Concerto in D major" with the Maribor National Opera Orchestra of Slovenia, and also served as a soloist in the orchestra's performance in Slovenia. In 2011, he was successful as a soloist with National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine Kyiv, one of the best orchestras in Europe, on a tour of Japan.
